The John Williams Funeral Service of Shifnal is an independent family owned business; and we recognise the importance of being based in the heart of the town and easily accessible for all. Of course, we hope that you will not need our services too soon, but when the time comes, we are at your service at any hour, day or night; bringing our local knowledge and commitment to you, alongside our reputation for high standards and excellent care of your loved one and your family at a most difficult time.
We cannot change what has happened – but we can provide a genuinely caring, dignified service, tailored to your every need: calmly, smoothly, sensitively and efficiently. We will visit your home to discuss arrangements, or warmly invite you to our funeral home.
Although we don’t construct our own coffins from boards of seasoned local elm or oak anymore; as the modern family expects, we do provide a varied range of coffins and caskets, each one being hand-finished, fitted and lined to the highest specification in our workshop, by us. We can source anything, including bespoke hand-made items.
We provide the latest Jaguar ceremonial vehicles (all under three years old) with uniformed chauffeurs, together with a kindly, traditionally dressed funeral director, who will gently and quietly guide you throughout the day itself.
As members of the National Association of Funeral Directors, we subscribe to, and exceed, the Association’s strict Code of Practice, and the Williams family are most proud to have been invited into membership of Selected Independent Funeral Homes – one of only twenty seven such members in the United Kingdom.
